Krzysztof Wołoszyk received his PhD in mechanical engineering from Gdańsk University of Technology in 2021. Since then, he is an Assistant Professor at this University, at the Institute of Naval Architecture, Department of Marine Structural Engineering.
His research focuses on ultimate strength and reliability of structures subjected to various ageing phenomena (mostly corrosion) with primary focus on ships and offshore structures. His research involves experiments, numerical computations, probabilistic modelling (e.g. random fields), reliability analysis and development of risk-based frameworks.
Krzysztof joins the Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification from February 2025 to June 2025 as a visiting scholar to work on implementing surrogate-modelling approaches for uncertainty quantification and reliability analysis of the ultimate strength of engineering structures accounting for ageing effects.
