Hasan Numan Olmez joins the RSUQ Chair as a visiting Doctoral Researcher
Hasan Numan Olmez, a PhD candidate at the University of Trento’s Department of Industrial Innovation, joins the Chair RSUQ for a six-month research stay from January to July 2025.
Hasan holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Ozyegin University in Istanbul, where he focused on flood performance and loss assessment of industrial structures under multiple hazards. His current research explores innovative laser and mechanical machining techniques for advanced structural applications.
During his stay at RSUQ, Hasan will work on developing a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to analyze data from high-cycle fatigue tests on bolted steel joints, incorporating corresponding microscope images.
