New paper published in Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering
B. Sudret published a new paper in collaboration with F. Schneider, I. Papaioannou and G. Müller at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
Last week our paper entitled “Maximum a Posteriori Estimation for Linear Structural Dynamics Models Using Bayesian Optimization with Rational Polynomial Chaos Expansions” was published in CMAME (Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering). This joint work results from the research stay of Felix Schneider in our group in Spring 2023.
In this paper we present a new Bayesian calibration technique in structural dynamics using surrogate models (rational polynomial chaos expansions) and active learning. In particular, an EGO-like algorithm is used that leverages on a posterior error measures that come from the Bayesian estimation of the rational PCE coefficients.
