GREYDIENT Hackaton

After the network-wide event in Munich, our ESRs traveled to Konstanz (Germany) to participate in the GREYDIENT Hackathon, a dynamic follow-up event organized from November 14th to 16th, 2023. This immersive activity provided Early Stage Researchers with the opportunity to delve into practical problem-solving. Each team of three had to choose between two challenging problems. The first challenge involved a routing problem, tasking participants with determining the safest route based on data from previous years. The second challenge centred around performing a reliability analysis of a (fake) nuclear power plant located in a seismic active region.
The winning group comprised of Anderson Pires, Panagiotis Gavallas, and Paolo Ascia. They proposed a method for generating fragility curves tailored to the unique features of the considered nuclear power plant.
