European H2020 Grant for the HIPERWIND project
The project HIPERWIND (Highly advanced probabilistic design and enhanced reliability methods for high-value, cost-efficient offshore wind) has been approved by the European Commission end of July 2020.
HIPERWIND aims at achieving a significant reduction in the cost of offshore wind farms through advancements of basic wind energy science and improved management of uncertainties. The Consortium led by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) gathers both academic partners (University of Bergen, ETH Zurich) and industrials (Electricité de France, IFP Energies Nouvelles, EPRI, DNV). Thanks to the grant the Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification will host a PhD student. The total budget of the project is 4 Million Euros.
