Anderson received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. During his Master’s studies, he mainly focused on applying Gaussian Process modeling to reduce the computational costs of glaciology numerical models.
During his Master’s, he has also applied different metamodeling techniques to perform structural reliability and sensitivity analyses of unbraced steel storage racks. Additionally, he implemented a Kriging algorithm for forecasting wind speeds over Brazil to perform structural reliability analysis of built structures.
Anderson joins the Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification to work on the European project GREYDIENT. In this project, his goal is to combine denoising and active learning algorithms to achieve highly efficient reliability estimation for grey-box models.
