UQ[Py]lab, a python, cloud-based version of UQLab

We are proud to announce the beta launch of UQ[Py]lab, a python, cloud-based version of UQLab that brings a full UQLab experience to any python environment.

by Nicole Benz

With more than 3,500 unique users worldwide, UQLab is a well-established, general purpose uncertainty quantification software in Matlab, developed at ETH Zurich (Switzerland). In line with its core philosophy to “Make uncertainty quantification available for anybody, in any field of applied science and engineering”, we decided to extend its availability also to those who do not include Matlab in their daily workflows.

As a result, we designed UQCloud, a cloud-based, language agnostic state-of-the-art web API that allows us to easily deploy language-specific bindings to a wide range of programming languages. The first of those bindings is UQ[Py]lab, which brings a near-native full UQLab experience to any python environment.

You are invited to join the beta testing phase of this service, which will last 6 months, by registering at the UQ[Py]lab external pagewebsite. Feel free to forward this email to your students and colleagues. Please note that, during this beta phase, availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis, as we gradually ramp-up and test the scalability of our production environment.
